Although I had heard of Black Bear Diner for years, I had never eaten at one until our church social group had quarterly dine-out here. There were 30 of us in the group and had reserved the back dining room. We did have to share the room with other diners because this is a BUSY location. The staff was very attentive and gracious, providing separate checks for the many couples and families.

The food was all delicious. It is very much "down-home" type of food. Burgers, sandwiches, salads, country fare like chicken fried steak and turkey dinners.

This location sits in a large corner shopping center. Applebee's is just across the walkway. Plenty of parking but the lots can get crowded on busy days.

    Bacon, coffee were good
Didn't care for the eggs and pancakes
The syrup they had was light syrup
    Friendly staff and clean restuarant.

This is my go to American restaurant.
The food is delicious and the service is friendly and prompt
You definitely get your money's worth here, they are not skimpy with the portions

I've gone to a different location a while back ago and wasn't too impressed, but I figured I'd give this one a chance. I ordered the corned beef hash with poached egg, fruit and sourdough bread. The hash was a bit different from what I've tried in the past, but it was delicious. The texture of it was amazing and it was well seasoned. The eggs were perfectly cooked.

My other breakfast mates had the 10 oz steak, eggs, fruit/hash browns and a biscuit/toast. I tried the steak and I quickly wished I had ordered that instead of my dish. This is one of the few times that when a steak is ordered medium, it is cooked to a medium! It was seasoned fantastically and it was amazing!!! Will try the next times.

Overall, it was great experience. Tasty food, little wait time and fantastic service from Maria.

    Will come again.

Went back tonight.  The wait was not bad on a Saturday evening.

    This time, we got

    Burger (way over cooked)

    Chicken salad croissant (ok)

Salmon (again) and requested pesto on side.--Here we go again.  This time, it was a manager that served it and we told him that we did not want pesto on fish.  Instead of apologizing or asked if they can correct it, he said, "It supposed to be on top."  Umm...  Well, apparently their salmon will always be as hard as a rock and if customer request for pesto on side, we are still going to get the same thing.

So much for giving this place a chance.

Almost forgot, our waitress is very nice, but very distracted.  This time, it took them a long time to get food out.
